Top 35 cheapest Android phone in India below Rs 5,000 for July 2014
KYMI rounds-up the top 35 best and latest Android handsets in the Rs 5,000 segment that make for a great buy this month
The line between feature phones and smartphones continues to blur further as the new and promising smart feature phones make their way to the market. Priced attractively at a sub Rs 5,000 range, these devices carry not only a very impressive specs sheet that belies their price tag but also stand to compete with some of the mid-range smartphones.
1. Celkon Campus A35k
During the time of it's launch, the Celkon Campus A35K was touted as the world's cheapest smartphone running Android KitKat out of the box. Not much has changed since, and the device still remains to be one of the most affordable Android KitKat phones in the market, with a price tag of under 3,000 INR.
2. Spice Stellar Glamour Mi-436
Although this one's been in the market for quite some time, the device still remains to be a favourite among budget smartphone seekers. What makes it different - true to its name - is the design, which does manage to stand out from the crowd of generic-looking-rebranded phones. The Stellar Glamuor can now be bought for around 4,800 INR, which by no means is a bad price to pay for a device like this.
3. Zen Ultrafone 502
Again a veteran (if you can call it that), the Zen Ultrafone 502 comes with a nice specs set that commands attention in the price range it sits in. Available for 5,000 INR, the Zen Ultrafone 502 features a 960 x 540p qHD display, seldom seen on devices in its range. That, along with a beautiful design make for the USP of the smartphone.
4. XOLO A500s Lite
Available for anywhere around the 4,800 INR mark, the XOLO A500s Lite is an extension of the very popular A500 series from the India based maker. The A500s Lite comes with a dual-core 1.3GHz CPU (MediaTek MT6572) along with 512MB RAM to make for a nice looking and decently powered affordable smartphone. XOLO phones are known for their build quality that according to the general consensus is better than what competitors provide.
5. Karbonn Smart A11 Star
Launched a handful days back, this smartphone comes with an eye-pleasing design, Android KitKat and a very easy-on-the-wallet price tag of just 4,499 INR. It's again powered by a dual-core MediaTek processor and has the same 512MB RAM as many other devices in this list, but a fresh design and Android KitKat give it an upper hand as far as competition is concerned.
