The Chinese smartphone company Oppo has gained popularity among the Indian consumers and is working at gaining a better foothold in the lucrative smartphone market. The company recently launched a budget smartphone dubbed Oppo Neo running on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS and with its ColorOS UI on top.

The device flaunts a 4.5-inch IPS LCD display which can be operated while wearing gloves as well. It houses a 1.3GHz dual-core processor, 512MB of RAM, 1900mAh battery, 4GB inbuilt storage with 32GB expandable storage option. Camera is taken care of by a 5-megapixel rear and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera.

  • Panasonic P31

Another mid-ranger from Panasonic bearing similar price tag as Oppo Neo but with better spec sheet is P31. The device brings onboard a slightly bigger display, RAM and battery life than its competition.

It boats of a 5-inch, 1GB RAM and 2,000mAh battery which promises upto 9 hours of talktime and up to 600 hours standby on 3G.

Powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, the Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean) device is also equipped with a better camera sensor as well - a 8-megapixel camera with full HD recording and a VGA front-facing camera for taking selflies and video calling.

  • Sony Xperia E1 Dual

Sony's latest dual-SIM variant, Xperia E1 Dual is another choice in this segment. The device features a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor and Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out of the box.

A spruced up version of Sony Xperia E, the device is equipped with a 4-inch WVGA display with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. Other spec list includes, 4GB of internal storage with upto 32GB expandable support, 1700mAh battery, a 3-megapixel camera capable of shooting HD (720p) videos. There is no secondary camera.
