Gionee Pioneer P3 specs, features, price and release date in India
Gionee is aiming to steal the spotlight with Pioneer P3, a budget quad-core smartphone running on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean
We have seen a surge in the budget quad-core smartphones segment with latest offering from the indigenous manufacturers arriving regularly. Apart from the major domestic and international players, the Chinese vendors are also exploring the Indian market space spoiling the indian consumers further with wallet friendly smartphone choices.
Gionee has been a popular Chinese brand in India. The company has been in talks for the anticipated launch of Elife E7 and now its latest quad-core offering Pioneer P3 has appeared online before its official launch.
As per a listing on e-commerce portal eBay, the device has been priced at Rs 7,799 and is set to go on sale starting December 6, 2013.
Armed with a MediaTek MT6582 quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz coupled with a Mali 400 MP2 GPU, Gionee Pioneer P3 promises to deliver a lag free performance. The handset is fitted with a 4.3-inch capacitive touchscreen display boasting of 800x480 pixel resolution, which is too low.
Pre-installed with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, the phone packs a mere 512MB of RAM and 4GB of native storage, that can be expanded up to 32GB via a micro SD card.
On the optics front, Pioneer P3 incorporates a 5-megapixel auto focus primary camera with LED flash and a VGA front-facer for video calling. Connectivity-wise, there is Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS on board.
Giving life is a 1,700 mAh battery delivering 12 hours of talk time. Available in Black and White color variants, the phone supports Dual SIM and Dual Standby option.
Pioneer P3 is the successor to Pioneer P2 and it is different from the latter only in few aspects such as processor and display.
Gionee’s Pioneer P3 will be a tough challenger for the other domestic quad-core phones in the sub Rs 10,000 price range including the newly launched Xolo Q500, Lava Iris 458q among others.
