iPad Air 2 specs, rumors, pictures, features and release date
The 2014 iteration of iPad Air is rumoured to release towards the end of this year with improved hardware
Despite the flood of tablets available in the market, iPad has managed to retain the throne year after year. The iPad Air was no exception and posted outstanding sales since its release in 2013. As per the tradition, Apple will be refreshing its iPad Air in 2014.
Even though the iPad has managed to be among the best, if not the best, tablet every year since launch, Apple has the capability to surprise by making it even better. What can we expect from the iPad Air 2?
As of now there is hardly any indication of how Apple plans to improve the specifications on its larger tablet. While the general design and build is expected to remain nearly the same, the processor could be bumped up to Apple’s in-house A8 SoC.
Even though TouchID has not really taken off yet, the possibilities with the fingerprint sensor are very exciting. With iOS 8 around the corner, it is extremely likely that Apple would have worked to bring more services under the security of TouchID. With the latest iPad Air in 2014, we expect that Apple will give a bit of biometric goodness to its tablet as well.
Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst working with KGI Securities, reports that the iPad Air 2 will launch towards the end of 2014. He also claims that Apple will be skipping on releasing any other iPad model this year which includes the updated iPad Mini or the rumoured 13 inch iPad Pro.
