Samsung unveils a exclusive app to track its Mobile's Unpacked event

Published on Aug 25, 2011

Samsung admirers have got another reason to smile. The Korea-based smartphone manufacturer has thought of a unique way to promote its upcoming Berlin's IFA show on September 1st.

The company has launched an exclusive Android mobile app for its fans. Thanks to this wonderful app, users can view the entire event unfold right in front of their eyes. Yes, the app will virtually transport you to Germany and help you attend the event.

Much to the delight of users, this app is free and can be downloaded from Android market. The app will also be available on the Samsung apps store. Moreover, if you are a citizen of Germany, this app will offer a great deal of assistance to you. Apart from streaming live videos, users can access maps of routes to the event location. A dedicated YouTube button has also been given that will link you directly to Samsung's video database much like the new Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1

However, there is a catch, Samsung Mobile Unpacked app is free for only those devices that are powered by Android 2.1 or higher versions. This might come across as rather disappointing news but overall, from a personal point of view, it still is a remarkable gesture from a brand that has been in the race to become the top smartphone and next-gen devices manufacturer in the world for quite some time now.

Fresh from Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 launch, the Korean brand is now looking forward to leveraging its market position and establish itself in the same space as Google and Apple have. Whatever be the case, Samsung looks comfortably placed and ready to take on the big-shots of smartphone industry.

The Berlin’s IFA show on September 1st holds a lot of significance for Samsung. The company is looking to occupy the same position in the smartphone market. This event will see it brandishing the presence and strategic edges it holds over others.
