ChatON is available for free to download through Android market. It is a global mobile communication service that is available in 120 countries and supports 62 languages. So, wherever you are in the world you can stay connected with your buddies free of cost via ChatON service.
How it works: ChatON runs on 3G and Wi-Fi network. It connects the ChatON users via Internet. You just download this application from Android market and then register your mobile number on it. After registration you need to just add buddies or your friends who are also the ChatON app users. Once they accept your invitation then you can chat with him free of cost from anywhere in the world.
While chatting you can share the pictures, videos and other documents via file sharing option. While messaging you can create animation messages and add to the text to make your chat more lively. You can create chat groups and the best part about this app is its connectivity between different devices regardless of their different platforms.
As of now this service is available for the Android and Bada OS handsets. But very soon it is expected that it will become an open source application that connects the iOS and BlackBerry OS users too. So, instead of keeping it limited to the Samsung handsets, Samsung has a totally different plan with this service.
In feature phones ChatON has some limited features, but a smartphone user like Galaxy S2 can access the advanced features of ChatON app. You can post comments on your friends profile page and the app will notify you that which friend is on the top rank (with whom you chat the maximum). This app is really fun and it runs on Android version 2.2 Froyo and its above.
