Navigation app also comes pre-loaded with Samsung Galaxy S and SII devices. Navigation app works on GPS technology just like the Google map app. The exclusivity of this app is its functionality of working as a navigator.

While you are walking or driving a vehicle, with this app you can search the shortest route between two places. As you click on the get direction you get the map. It has a category based search option also through which you can check out the nearest pubs, coffee shops and other hang out places.

The category-based search is replica of the Places app. You can find out the same options in that app also. But the purpose of both the apps are  very different. Navigation cannot work without GPS whereas the Places app can do so. Those of you who often need Google map to drive to new places this is really great app for you.

The Good: It gives instant results. It saves time and is easy to manage. With this app you can trace the nearest hang out places like pubs, coffee shops and restaurants.

The Bad: It does not work without the GPS. So, incase if you want to check out the map while your GPS is disabled it won’t work. Secondly, this is a default app so except the Galaxy S and SII users other Android users cannot take benefit of this app.
