BSNL slashes STD tariff rates

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. (BSNL) has slashed landline STD tariff rates to 80 paise per 3 minutes to trigger a fresh new tariff war on the STD turf

BSNL has recently announced the slashed national tariff rates for STD calls from landline numbers for their subscribers. The long distance calls, which were earlier 80 paise for 2 minutes, are now revised to 80 paise per 3 minutes to BSNL subscribers.

BSNL is now offering local call at a rate of 80 paise for 3 minutes up to 300 calls after which the call will will be charged at the rate of Rs 1 up to a maximum of Rs 1.20.

The new long distance call rates will be automatically available to all BSNL fixed line consumers across tariff plans. However, the new STD tariff rates are not applicable to PCOs and calls made to special services.
