HTC has launched its first mid range 64-bit smartphone named the Desire 510 and we take a look at its top 5 rivals

HTC has just launched its first mid range smartphone with a 64-bit chipset from Qualcomm. The smartphone comes with a modest set of specifications and its bring 4G LTE on a budget. The 1.2 GHz quad core Snapdragon 410 under its hood is expected to make it a decent performer and it wouldn't burn a hole in your pocket too. Let us take a look at the top 5 rivals of the device:

Moto G2

The upcoming successor of the popular Moto G is expected to come with a 5 inch 720p display, 1.2 GHz quad core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB/16GB of internal storage which will be expandable, 8MP rear camera with flash and a 2MP front camera and it will run on Android 4.4.4 KitKat. The Desire 510's pricing hasn't been announced and the two are expected to battle it out quite fiercely against each other.

Xiaomi Mi3

The yesteryear flagship from Xiaomi retails at a price which can put many mid range smartphones to shame. It comes with a 5 inch 1080p display 2.3 Ghz Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB non expandable storage, 13MP rear camera and 2MP front camera, runs on Android 4.4 KitKat with MiUI on top of it and costs pretty much the same as Desire 510 is expected to. 

BlackBerry Z3

The budget BB OS 10 device has been doing decently well in the few markets it has been present in including India. It comes with a 5 inch qHD display, 1.2 GHz dual core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1.5GB RAM, 8GB internal storage expandable by 32GB, 5MP rear camera and 1.1MP front camera and it runs on BB OS 10.2. It is a pretty well optimised handset which provides a good experience.

Sony Xperia M2

The mid ranger from Sony goes pretty close to the Desire 510 minus the 4G LTE. A 4.8 inch qHD display is present up front, a 1.2 GHz quad core Snapdragon 400 processor powers it coupled with a 1GB RAM. The internal storage stands at 8GB and can be expanded by 32GB. It gets an 8MP camera with a LED flash at the rear and a VGA camera up front and like all its other Android rivals runs on Android 4.4 KitKat. Expect it to be one of the toughest competitiors for the Desire 510.

Nokia Lumia 1320

It is one of the few handsets which give a 4G experience on a budget. It has a 6 inch 720p display, a 1.7 GHz dual core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB RAM, runs on Windows Phonw 8 and will soon be upgraded to Windows Phone 8.1 and has a 5MP rear camera with LED flash and a VGA front camera. The internal storage  stands at 8GB and can be expanded by another 64GB. Constant price revisions have resulted in a really competitive pricing and the Desire 510 will surely have its work cut out when it gets priced and starts rolling out.
