Olive Telecom announced its partnership with Bharti Airtel for the launch of its first handset, Olive FrvrOn (V-G2300) in the Indian market. The handset is the first hybrid-dual powered mobile phone that is compatible with any AAA battery.
To support the launch, both Airtel and Olive Telecom have initiated a marketing campaign for reaching the rural segments through a van promotion that goes beyond "off highway" for reaching the heart of the state. At present, about 19 vans are operational from the Kolkata, Cooch Behar & Behrampur hubs. Promoters in these vans demonstrate how the device works while mentioning its inherent benefits. The villagers get extra benefits upon every van purchase such as a battery powered LED lantern, a free gift and a utility item that matches with the battery operated handset.
In addition, the users will seek a free Airtel connection with the mobile phone, and Non Stop telephony at a pocket-friendly cost of just Rs. 1,299. The mobile phone empowers the user to stay connected, even in remote areas or busy urban centers when the power may run out.
The Olive FrvrOn V-G2300 sports a compact design and is packed with features such as speaker phone, stereo handset, 1.5 inch colour display, polyphonic ring tones and FM radio.
