Through this latest initiative, Mumbaikars and Delhiites will get a chance to pay their bills for road toll and m-tickets for movie via mobile phones , thus doing away with the movie and paper toll tickets. The word will be spread through a Radio campaign that will urge people to participate in a simple SMS contest. The participants in this IDEA campaign will be entitled to a Code (via SMS) which they can flash as their "Mobile ticket" to travel on the Bandra-Worli Sea Link in Mumbai, and the Delhi Noida Direct flyover.
IDEA's 'Use Mobile, Save Paper' campaign is aimed at educating people to efficiently use the mobile phone for day to day communication to save paper. World over, millions of tonnes of trees get cut everyday to produce paper, leading to alarming rates of deforestation. This new IDEA campaign is designed to promote mobile phone usage as an efficient tool to read daily newspapers generate e-bills, make payments and transactions, issue e-tickets and boarding passes; thereby saving tonnes of paper everyday.
All you need to do is to send an SMS ‘Idea sealink’ to 58888. The first 4,000 people in Mumbai will receive a thank you SMS which they can show as their mobile ticket to travel absolutely free on a single journey, either way, on the Bandra Worli Sea link on Thursday, 25th February between 8 am to 12 noon. IDEA also offers 200 free tickets to the screening of movie 'Karthik calling Karthik' at PVR Cinemas, Saket, on Friday, 26th February for people who SMS 'Idea movie' to 58888.
Similarly, Delhiites can enjoy a free single journey by sending SMS 'Idea Toll' to get a free single journey on the DND flyover on 2nd March, between 8 am to 12 noon and ‘Idea Film’ to get fee m-tickets for the screening of ‘Karthik calling Karthik’ at PVR Cinemas, Saket on Friday, 26th February.
IDEA takes this initiative further by partnering with leading coffee chains – Barista and Cafe Coffee Day – in Mumbai and Delhi, to introduce mobile menu and mobile bill at their outlets. Through this campaign, IDEA will enable large number of coffee lovers to contribute towards the cause of saving the tree by saving paper, by not using paper menu and paper bills at these outlets.
