At the launch occasion, MA Madhusudan, CEO, Virgin Mobile India, told that this launch will help us further consolidate our position as one of the leading, youth mobile service brands.
Virgin Mobile will be offering new introductory services namely: vMingle, vGenie and vBelong.
The first service, vMingle is targeted at the young generation of India. This innovative feature will offer one-point social networking service.
Through this service, users can access popular social networking sites at one interface. A single log-in will give you access to stay connected with your entire friend groups at different social network sites through this feature.
Then there is another service which will be known as 'vGenie'. This service is offered for the users who wish to get prompts and alerts for different reminders - be it birthdays, meetings, wake-up calls or else.
And there is another service called 'vBelong' that will come handy for the users who wish to create and design their own WAP sites for their group, college etc.
The company has introduced 20 paise per minute for STD and local calls to any Virgin mobile number without any special pack for the subscribers. However, the Virgin Mobile users will be charged 40 paise per minute for local and 50 paise per minute for STD for calling any other network.
Virgin Mobile, which currently operates in the CDMA network, also plans to launch its services in Orissa, Maharashtra and North India by March 2010.
