Huawei is one of the premier Chinese brands trying to bite a piece of the ever-expanding mobile Indian market. It was one of the Asia’s first companies that competed with big brands like Nokia and Samsung. It is also world's second largest telecom equipment maker. It now stands to compete with companies like Micromax and Spice on the domestic front.
In accordance with ongoing trend, it has provided us with an ideal budget smartphone with the Ideos X2, also known as the U8500. Lets have a close look at the device. If you are the kind of person who buys a phone for its looks, the X2 is made to order for you. The phone has an ergonomic design and a sleek metallic finish.
The phone curves around the edges making it even smoother to handle. It is equipped with a 3.2" crystal clear display that is in fact, the most attractive feature of the phone. The phone is easy to handle and comfortably sits in the palm of the hand.
The phone has matt finish all over, along with four-button strip finished in gunmetal color. It has two buttons on either side, while a smart button is intuited in the middle. The screen offers a 320 x 480 pixel resolution that competes with any phone in its price range. It has a great touch response and the touch is soft and intuitive, the key feature being the rotating touchscreen.
One does not need to navigate from page to page with this phone. The phone, although is susceptible to having thumbprints on the screen and need to be wiped regularly. The phone functions with a smooth slidelock that can be easily opened and activated by pressing a small on/off button on the top. The phone also has an easy to use volume button on the side.
The phone is equipped with a decent 3.2 mega-pixel camera that offers clear pictures. The video camera is equally good. It has all the features of an Android phone including a voice dialer and voice recognition.
