Amazon has inked a deal with NBC to provide the best in entertainment to its consumers. Amazon subscribers can now watch around 9,000 movies and TV shows.
This news comes just some days ahead of HTC announcing that it would provide Yamgo TV on its tablet. In this ever changing tablet market, HTC seems to have started a trend that Amazon is taking forward. In the future, we can even expect Apple and Samsung to provide such services.
This spells good news for consumers as every tablet maker is trying to enhance the viewing experience.
The Amazon-NBC tie up means that Amazon consumers would be able to access Universal Picture Films, one of the most famous brands in film making via their tablets.
To make it even more interesting, Amazon plans to offer this service free of cost to its tablet consumers.
According to Amazon's press release - ‘Universal titles available to Prime customers will include Oscar winners, such as Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Elizabeth, and Gosford Park'.
In addition to this, Universal offers movies for kids and adults both. From Notting hill to The Jetsons, Universal offers everything under one roof.
Amazon already offers a slew of services such as its apps and video service and most importantly, its exclusive range of eBooks. By offering these in a bundle, the Amazon tablet is expected to be the next best thing in entertainment. It is expected in the last quarter this year.
The release of this tablet ensures that Amazon is trying to topple its core competitor, Apple from the No.1 position. Who will win this war?
