Acer Iconia A100, which was expected to launch in July, will be launched in US this month. The tablet is expected to hit India by September.
According to the Engadget post, Acer has shoot out the mails to all the retailers that there is a one-month delay in the launch of its 7-inch display tablet and it will reach to the retailers by the next month. After US the company is looking forward to launch this tablet device in other countries as well including the India.
The delay has been attributed to the Honeycomb compatibility with the tablet. Acer wanted to confirm before its debut that whether the device is running perfectly on the Honeycomb 3.2 or not. If we talk about the memory size then this tablet is available in 8GB memory size. So in comparison with other tablets like iPad and Galaxy tab the size of this A100 is comparatively less than these other tablets.
This tablet packs in Nvidia Tegra 2 dual core 1Ghz processor with a 512 MB RAM. Perhaps, the 7-inch display tablet is smaller in size in comparison with the 10 inch A500 tablet, but resolution vise it is similar to the A500 i.e. 1024x600 pixels.
ACER announced earlier that it will upgrade the tablet to Honeycomb 3.2 and the updates will be made available via OTA upgrades. We are hoping when the tablet is shipped to India it will come with the pre installed Honeycomb 3.2 OS.
Acer A100 tablet will soon join the league of other 7-inch display tablets available in the Indian market and others which are following in tow.
