The patent war between Samsung and Apple has taken a new turn after Apple blocked the launch of the Galaxy Tab in Australia after filing a case against its alleged copyright infringements. We provide you an overview of the situation.

Apple and Samsung have gone all out in the tablet war. Although the case is still pending in the US, Apple Australia lawyer Steve Burley has pursued the court to stall the release for the time being.

Once close allies, Samsung and apple have now turned bitter enemies. Their enmity started the day Samsung launched its Galaxy Tab and seems to have continued forever.

The decision has been taken  after examining the American version of the Galaxy Tab 10.1. The main motive behind this is to delay the launch of the tablet in other countries.

This is Apple's payback to Samsung. Many Apple products got delayed when Samsung withdrew its hand from Apple's production. Apple had to revert to Taiwanese manufacturers for producing its upcoming iPhone and iPad.

Apple Australia's press release spells it out even more clearly - "It's no coincidence that Samsung's latest products look a lot like the iPhone and the iPad, from the shape of the hardware to the user interface and even the packaging,This kind of blatant copying is wrong and we need to protect Apple's intellectual property when companies steal our ideas."

Samsung has agreed to day the product until a decision is reached.

The case will be presented in the Federal court on August 29.
