Huawei unveils Vision: Stylish 3.7" Gingerbread smartphone in unibody frame

Huawei may not have exactly set the smartphone market afire with its offerings in the recent past yet its next surely promises to be a showstopper. In times, when prominent smartphone manufacturers are busy incorporating dual-core processors in their respective products, Huawei has settled for a 1 Ghz chip powered Gingerbread smartphone named 'Vision' to meet its target of selling 1 mn units.

It goes without saying that expectations from Huawei Vision are sky-high as it is expected to be the first smartphone in the series of next-gen models integrated with Cloud, that will be rolled out in near future. For those who don't know, already, Huawei's upcoming Cloud+ platform has managed to create a lot of buzz in market since it is believed to have services similar to what iCloud has to offer i.e., remote access to media and applications. Interestingly, Huawei has been rather protective about Cloud and its features, staying tight-lipped throughout.

Speaking further about Huawei Vision, it comes encased in an aluminium unibody frame. The stylishly designed 9.9mm smartphone weighs only 121 g and is available in variety of colors including gold, silver and charcoal. It has a 5-megapixel built-in auto-focus camera with LED Flash that can shoot 720p HD videos. As mentioned above, Huawei Vision is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM 8255 variety 1 Ghz chip, aptly supported by a 512MB RAM.  In addition, you have Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth and microUSB connectivity along with a microSD card slot that can facilitate memory expansion upto 32 GB.

The Gingerbread comes with 3.7-inch display screen that has Huawei’s very own 3D carousel interface lets you shuttle between pages and apps with a gentle sweeping touch. 

Huawei Vision will make its way into select markets (that includes UK but no US) this September. As far as pricing goes, the Shenzhen network equipment and phone marker has clearly stated that buyers will have to shell out nothing less than $305 for this off-contract smartphone.
