Acer has announced on its Facebook page that it would release the Acer Iconia Smart by next month. This smartphone from Acer was announced back in February and has been continuously facing delays since then. While Acer has remained silent on the reasons behind the delay, it has been indicated that the Japan earthquake might be responsible.
Touted as the world's first tablet cum smartphone hybrid, Acer Iconia Smart has generated much hype around.
An Android 2.3 smartphone that combines the essential features of a tablet, boasts of a 4.8-inch capacitive touchscreen and enhanced connectivity options. Along with an extra large screen, this smartphone features a 1024 x 480 pixel resolution. It is equipped with a powerful 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.
Acer provides its own user interface - the Acer UI 4.2 in the Acer Iconia Smart which combines superior navigation with excellent features.
The device sports a 8-megapixel camera at the back and a 2-megapixel front facing camera. It is embedded with functions such as Wi-Fi 802.11 and Adobe Flash Player 1.1. Along with thousands of Android apps, Acer might provides specialized apps with this phone.
It comes with a 8 GB of internal storage that can be upgraded to 32 GB using a microSD card. Along with that it features a 1500 mAh battery that promises long talktime and enhanced functionality.
Acer's Facebook page, does not mention any announcement regarding its release date in India.
