
Micromax provides an affordable alternative to the iPhone

Micromax has come out with a new budget smartphone A70, successor to the popular Micromax A60

Micromax's recently launched A70 takes a poke at high-end phones such as the iPhone and provides the consumer with a phone that offers a slew of features at a reasonable price.
The company has in fact, posted an ad in Times of India making fun of the iPhone and also conveying that affordability is the USP of this phone.
This phone comes from a lineage of successful budget smartphones, such as the A60. The A70 comes with a 3.2-inch TFT HVGA capacitive touchsreen with a standard resolution of 320 x 480 pixels. It comes with dual-cameras, a 5-megapixel one at the back and a VGA camera at the front for video calling.
It runs on the Android 2.2 - Froyo OS. In addition to that, it offers enhanced browsing experience with its 3G capability and futuristic Mi-Fi. It supports download speeds up to 7.2 mbps along with apps such as Officesuite viewer making it an attractive buy for business consumers.
In addition to numerous Android apps, Micromax has offered its own appstore (M! -apps) at the user's disposal. The phone offers expandable storage up to 32 GB and comes with a budget price tag of Rs. 7,999.
Recently, Micromax launched a slew of phones. These include the Bling 2 and the Van Gogh. While Bling 2 is an upgrade to the eariler Bling handset, the Van Gogh is India's first phone with a inbuilt Bluetooth headset.
Micromax's major competitors incude Spice, Lava, G'Five and Huawei.
