Nokia has partnered with Polar Mobile to expand its footprint in the dynamic smartphone market. The business alliance will help Nokia launch more than 300 mobile apps for its smartphones by the next year.
The waning mobile phone manufacturer will source range of apps from global media companies which include the likes of Wired UK, Kompas, Globe and Mail, 7 Days, Advertising Age and even, Shanghai Daily.
Owners of smartphones running on Symbian OS including the new Nokia N9 and the upcoming models incorporated with Microsoft Windows OS will be able to download and use it. The first installment of 50 apps for Symbian OS will make way into market next month. These apps will also be available on Nokia's Ovi Store.
Polar Mobile is an established entity that has been providing required assistance to media outlets in launching apps for different smartphone and tablet operating systems.
Till now, the company has more than 1200 mobile apps to its credit. Experts believe Nokia-Polar Mobile association will help the former in reaching out to users in as many as 190 different markets.
Fortunately, for Nokia, teaming up with Polar Mobile is an excellent opportunity to ramp up their mobile apps platform and offer customers with plenty of colorful and engaging apps. If everything goes well, this partnership will help Nokia in scaling up and pocketing global and established brands.
Nokia’s market position in recent times has taken a severe hit following the smartphone revolution. The company since then has been trying hard to claw its way back. Its partnership with Microsoft Windows for OS and now with Polar Mobile only goes on to suggest the desperate measures it is resorting to regain its position.
