According to The Mobile Indian, the Taiwanese IT giant Asus is planning to launch its 10.1-inch tablet, the Asus Eee Pad SL101. This tablet boasts of features such as a dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 SOC processor, and a 1 GB RAM.

The Eee Pad slider features a slide-out keyboard along with tablet functionality. Equipped with the Android 3.1 – Honeycomb OS, the device features a 10.1-inch 1280 x 800 p WXGA LED screen with 10-finger multi-touch support that brings a 178-degree viewing angle IPS panel. Along with that, it is protected by a scratch resistant corning gorilla glass.

The device is fitted with 5-megapixel camera at the rear and a 1.2-megapixel front camera. It comes with 16/32 GB memory card slot, USB port, MicroSD card reader and a mini HDMI port. Along with that it features Asus’s own touchscreen UI.

Asus would provide unlimited web storage along with 16/32 GB physical/hardware memory. Along with numerous Android apps, it comes pre-loaded with features such as Zinio Reader, Mynet, Mycloud, Mylibrary and press reader. Additionally, it is equipped with GPS, Bluetooth 2.1 and Wi-Fi 802.11.  It also features a keyboard dock for extending the device productively and saving battery life.

For its business users and other users as well, Asus provides features such as Polaris Office 3.0, which facilitates easy document viewing and editing.

Speculations are rife that Asus might tie-up with a 3G provider to launch the tablet in India. As yet, Asus has not released any pricing details for this tablet which is expected to be launched in October.

Along with Slider, Asus will also come out with the Transformer 2 Wi-Fi+3G version of the tablet in India.
