The Nokia Zeta handset has been creating a lot of hype for quite a long time. It was among the 4 leaked upcoming Nokia handsets in June this year. Many Nokia Zeta leaks have surfaced since then. These include images of the Zeta, its specifications and a whole lot of other information about the handset. 

Nokia has come out with an elaborate PR strategy for this phone. It is running a teaser on its Facebook page with a time ticker and the caption - “It’s almost time to try something new.” The countdown will start today at around 6.15 PM. A leaked video showcasing its operating system, the Symbian Belle is already doing rounds on YouTube.

Form & Display

 The Nokia Zeta was initially touted to be the thinnest smartphone ever. But at 10 mm, it is thicker than the iPhone 4 or the Galaxy SII. Still, the exciting part is that with the dimensions of 110x51x10mm, it might not be the thinnest smartphone ever; but it is still one of the lightest. In fact, it is actually the thinnest Nokia smartphone ever.

The Nokia Zeta is hyped to come with a 3.2-inch AMOLED display armed with an HD resolution of 640 x 360 pixels. The leaked images of Symbian belle and Nokia Zeta show an attractive screen with a clear display.

Operating System

One of the most anticipated features of the Nokia Zeta is its operating system. The Nokia Zeta is set to run on the Symbian Belle. Symbian Belle is the latest operating system from Nokia. The Facebook teaser was originally named the ‘Belle teaser’ triggering anticipations of its launch. The Symbian Belle comes loaded with features such as a new app store, Android style drop-down menu and a task-manager. It will most probably come pre-loaded with widgets and customized user options. 

It is interesting to note that just last week, Nokia launched the Symbian Belle predecessor - the Symbian Anna. According to speculations, Nokia might, for the first time, launch two operating systems in the same month.

Processor 

The Nokia Zeta is set to come with a 1 GHz processor. At the time the phone was leaked, there were no 1GHz smartphones in the market. Since then, many phones have come out and many are set to come out with one

Connectivity capabilities

The Nokia Zeta is set to be packed with 3G and 2G connectivity. Along with that it is said to offer HSPA connectivity through Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The device also comes embedded with an NFC chip. There is an NFC icon amongst the leaked images that suggests the same. NFC or near filed communication enhances the connectivity capabilities of a handset to a great extent.

App store

Nokia is set to provide an all-new app store with the Zeta. According to rumors, it will also provide many new apps and games. According to the industry pundits, the new appstore is Nokia’s attempt to match up to the iOS and Android market.
