Symbian Belle: Everything you need to know before the official launch today, August 24

The "Belle Teaser" on Nokia's Facebook has been teasing us with excitement for couple of days. As the count down inches closer to completion, the unveiling of the latest Symbian update - Belle becomes more pronounced. A bigger and better avatar of its failed sibling, Belle boasts of several improvements over its predecessor Anna.
Out of all the features that we have heard about Belle, the most notable is its drop down Android-like notifications menus. This ‘pull down status bar' will also be used to make quick switches in addition to giving users access to toggle to WiFi, Bluetooth and data connection.
What users will find very handy in the notification bar is the 'clear' button. Now you can clear all your read mails and que the unread ones with ease. You will also find a list of on-going activities, placed just below the notification tab, which would help users view all the running apps and downloads.

The Symbian Belle update will also come with a Task Switcher. As the name indicates the "switcher" will allow users to seamlessly switch between the tasks and close all the running apps. Also there will be a open application on the Symbian Belle OS called "living", which will be featured in system tray above the homescreen.
There has been news about Nokia ditching its older OVI store for a brand new app store. This new Nokia store would be similar to an Android app store.
The Belle launch will be interspersed with the launch of one of the smartphones from the trio - Cindy (Nokia 600), Zeta (Nokia 700), and Helen (Nokia 701). Our pick is Nokia 700, which was revealed in full glory by us couple of months back.
As of now we don't know if the Belle update will actually be seeded to users so that's something we will be finding out shortly in a matter of few hours.
You may hate or love Symbian Belle but you surely can't ignore it. The fresh OS and added features will surely attract users, may be even some from Android.
