HTC Omega and Nokia 800 show up in gaming stats online

Published on Aug 25, 2011

HTC Omega has always been a subject of curiosity among the techies. One of the well-guarded secrets in the smartphone industry right now, its presence was never officially confirmed. However, recently when the dedicated accessories for HTC Omega popped up Online, it managed to create a stir of sorts.

If the above rumor turns out to be true, Omega will soon feature in HTC's smartphone portfolio. Sighted at Elbert Perez's game stats page, it is being believed that Omega is still being tested.

Now since these observations has been made on Elbert Perez's own game page, who himself is a Windows Phone developer and has authored the much-awaited 'Air Dagger', there is hardly any doubt that HTC Omega will be powered by Microsoft's mobile platform. It might feature an updated Mango version. In addition, the smartphone will be powered by third-gen Qualcomm chipset set at 1.5 Ghz and will be having a 3.8-inch SLCD display.

However, HTC Omega isn't the only phone from Elbert's statistics that has grabbed the eyeballs. Nokia 800 is another model in the list. Still a mystery, Nokia 800 too is likely to be another Windows Phone 7 device. Although no official word on its presence has arrived from Nokia yet it is being touted as next big release of the season.

In the past few months, the smartphone market has kicked up big time. While HTC has been able to capitalize on the opportunity by introducing some hot-shot models, Nokia has failed miserably.

By entering into strategic alliance with Microsoft for OS and Polar Mobile for mobile apps, the latter is trying to redeem it. As far as HTC is concerned, the company has managed to make some important breakthroughs and to an extent, tasted decent success however nothing substantial hasn’t come its way.

Therefore, it can be said that both the well-known mobile device brands i.e., Nokia and HTC are pinning their hopes on HTC Omega and Nokia 800.
