
Nokia 101 and Nokia 100 budget friendly, feature rich mobile phones revealed

Nokia launches two budget friendly, feature rich dual SIM phones Nokia 101 and the Nokia 100

Nokia had announced in February this year about its renewed approach to connect the ‘next billion’ people. As a part of that initiative, Nokia has announced the arrival of Nokia 101 and Nokia 100. Both are feature phones aimed at the average consumer who looks towards to affordability and connectivity in a handset.
According to the press release, Mary McDowell, executive vice president mobile phones Nokia was quoted as saying, “we recognize that for many of the next billion people, a phone purchase is an investment. People are looking for a phone that offers great features but also one that is dependable. When paired with powerful and locally relevant services such as Nokia Life Tools, the Nokia 101 and Nokia 100 offer a unique experience that is simply unmatched in their markets at these price points.”
Lets take a comparative look at both the handsets.
The Nokia 101 is a dual-SIM feature phone. It is equipped with a unique SIM manager that can store the settings of up to 5 SIM cards. It is also equipped with an FM radio, MP3 player and 103-phon loudspeaker. It comes with a storage capacity of 16 GB.
The Nokia 100 on the other hand is a budget color phone that includes a grid-based menu system and an FM radio.
Both of these phones target the economy consumer. While the Nokia 101 comes in 2 colors – Black and Red, the Nokia 100 comes with a wider range of colors – Pink, Blue, Black and Red. Both of them would also come pre-loaded with services such as Nokia money and life tools.
The Nokia 100 and the Nokia 101 would be available in Europe in Q3 and Q4, 2011. The Nokia 100 would come with a price tag of 25 Euros (App. Rs. 1,500) while the Nokia 101 would come with one of 20 Euros (App. Rs. 1200.)
The India release date and price of these handsets are yet to be announced.
