The good: The LG Fathom has lots of features including a gesture pad, which is not as well implemented on other touchscreen phones.

For example, by writing “T”, on the gesture pad you can open up the Twitter application and by writing “E” you can launch the e-mail.

A decent collection of pre-loaded applications come on the Fathom too.

The Fathom is also well-equipped when it comes to connectivity. GPS, Wi-Fi, 3G and Bluetooth are all onboard.

The bad: The design of the Fathom is very similar to the LG Ally (Android) phone, and it was released in 2010, so it's pretty old now. There are plenty of better devices out there, running on Android.

Fathom comes with the Windows Mobile 6.5.3 OS, which supports several applications, but there's no store to download them.

The user interface is not particularly intuitive. The size of the icons on its user interface (UI) are pretty small and you'll have to use a stylus to get the most out of the phone.

Even the response of the finger touch is a bit sluggish. The auto-screen rotation speed and the image refreshing rate is also very slow compared to newer devices. You can't even upgrade its OS to the Windows Phone 7 OS.
