The Gold edition touch and type Nokia C3-01 is a handset that doubles up as an accessory. Equipped with an 18-carat gold plating and a ceramic-feel keypad, this handset is made-to-order for users who like to create a style statement with their cellphones.
Its predecessor, the original Nokia C3-01 was launched as a simplistic handset equipped with standard features aimed at users who would use their phones only for making and receiving calls. Taking a step further, Nokia has now launched a gold version of this handset that is equipped with many new features.
Lets take a look at the Nokia C3-01 gold edition.
The phone comes with an 18-carat gold plated body though the design is similar to the earlier C3-01 handset. It also features Nokia messaging, IM and Nokia communities to facilitate easy social networking on Facebook and Twitter.
The gold edition features a 1GHz processor along with a 64 MB RAM and supports 3G and HSPA data speeds. Along with that, it is equipped with WLAN 802.1.1 and Bluetooth 2.1.
It sports a 2.4-inch 240 x 320 pixels TFT touchscreen. It offers touch and type facility with which a user can use both the touchscreen and the body keypad. It is supported by a powerful 1050 mAh battery.
Additionally, it is equipped with 140 MB internal and 32 GB external storage capacity. Sporting a 5-megapixel CMOS camera that is similar to the one in C3-01, the device comes pre-loaded with Facebook, Twitter and Flash Lite 3.0. Nokia also offers consumer access to numerous games and apps from the Ovi Store.
The handset was recently released in Eastern European and Middle Eastern markets at a price of 220 Euros (App. Rs. 14,500). While it is expected to be released in the Indian market in Q4 2011, its price for Indian markets is not known yet.
