Sony Ericsson to launch Xperia Active and Xperia Ray

Sony Ericsson gears up to launch its 2 new long awaited handsets that belongs to Xperia series. Both the phones. These handsets first appeared at  CommunicAsia 2011 event in Singapore. Both of these devices feature the new Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS and a powerful 1GHz processor.

The new Xperia Active packs a 3-inch reality display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine for excellent picture quality. The device sports an efficinet 5-megapixel camera with HD video feature. Active is a dust proof as well as water resistant handset, which comes with wet finger tracking attribute to ensure that the gadget works smoothly, even if your fingers are wet.

Xperia Active aimed at health conscious mobile phone users. The Sony Ericsson smartphone comes pre-loaded with number of sports Apps that allows the users to conveniently track their fitness levels. Useful features like GPS, barometer and compass are also preloaded in the mobile phone.

The new Active comes equipped with ANT+ wireless networking technology, due to which one can monitor his heart rate and pulse on-screen. Whereas, the iMapMyFitness App included helps to monitor every day's performance. Facebook inside Xperia let the users of this phone to share their progress and experiences with their friends and loved ones.

The other Sony Ericsson smartphone to launch is Xperia Ray, which is designed basically style conscious users. It comes in a sleek and stylish aluminium frame, reality display, 3.3-inch screen and Mobile BRAVIA Engine.

Ray sports an 8.1-megapixel camera along with Exmor R technology and HD video functionality, which hints that it's camera will be excellent for sure. The Sony Ericsson touch screen phone runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread version and has a 1 GHz processor that allows multi-tasking. The sleek mobile phone comes in 9.4 mm thickness with in a marvelously designed casing that weights 100 grams.

Xperia Ray integrates a front facing camera as well as an attractive scratch resistant screen, that provides clear resolution. Also, the device comes preloaded with several fantastic features like WiFi, 3G, DLNA and Bluetooth that provides excellent connectivity to the device.

The company has not yet revealed their prices, but they both are expected to be costing somewhere around Rs 15,000-20,000.
