Samsung confirms Nexus Prime

Smartphone users have been waiting impatiently for any official news of the existence and release of the supersmart Nexus Prime for a long time. It looks like the smartphone does indeed exist and will be ready for release in the last quarter of the year, since a Wi-Fi certification note for the phone was released by Samsung.
Another development that confirmed the existence of Nexus Prime was Samsung seemingly releasing a cease and desist letter vis-à-vis the smartphone. Samsung has apparently sent out the said letter to someone allegedly in illegal possession of the firmware of the Nexus Prime.
The letter reads, “…you are wrongfully in possession of, and intend to release or otherwise publicly disclose without Samsung’s consent, firmware for the Nexus Prime. The Nexus Prime firmware is the exclusive property of Samsung and/or its partners, suppliers and affiliates.” Though the letter is supposedly signed by Bryan Hopkins, Samsung’s General Counsel, his name has been removed by the anonymous source of the letter.
The letter obtained by Geek.com might or might not be the real thing. If it is indeed the real thing, Samsung has confirmed ownership of Nexus Prime in so many words. Even if is fake, the Wi-Fi certification note released by Samsung hints at the very real possibility of the smartphone’s October release.
With all the rumours doing the rounds about Nexus Prime, it looks like the smartphone is going to be one powerful device. The display is slated to be 4.5’’ Super AMOLED HD with a resolution of 1280 x 720. The phone is going to run on a 1.5 GHz TI OMAP dual-core processor. One of the best features of the Nexus Prime is its high-end camera which offers a great low-light performance. Of course, the phone will support NFC and LTE too. It is expected to be Google’s first Ice Cream Sandwich device.
Samsung is expected to declare an official release date of the Nexus Prime sometime mid September or early October. Looks like the smartphone market is really going to heat up with some great offers before the year ends!
