When will the iPad 3 come to India?

Rumours and speculations about the launch of Apple’s iPad 3 are doing rounds everywhere. The iPad 3 rumors lifted off soon after the launch of iPad 2 early this year. Since last few months, most of the websites are hinting iPad 3 announcement by September 2011, while others are suggesting its release only in 2012.

Most of the iPad 3 "leaked" images appearing over the Internet showcase a bigger and brighter display suggesting a potential retina display and possibility for 3D movies support. As per the FBR Capital Markets analyst Craig Berger for iPad 2 Plus or iPad 3 (the name is still not finalized), 2.048 x 1.336 resolution will be the new pixel density.

We all know Apple is keen on a Near Field Communication (NFC), so if you find one in iPad 3, don’t be surprised. It has more memory space - starting it from the standard 16/32/64 GB storage options. Besides all the above features, iPad 3 will be a sensation with a quad-core processor and a lighter weight. 

Daring Fireball’s John Gruber says on  macrumours, “If my theory is right, they're not only going to be months behind the iPad 2, but if they slip until late summer, they might bump up against the release of the iPad 3.” 

He further adds, “thus, my gut feeling is that Apple will move the iPad to a September release schedule, alongside the iPods. But they wouldn't want to wait over a year and a half from the announcement of the original iPad to announce the second one - not with these stakes, and not with so many serious competitors trying their best to catch up.”

Though, there are some websites that are posting stories on rumours indicating the device to come out somewhere around Christmas. One of the example is reviewspecs.com that has posted a report that hints the iPad 3 launch by December near Christmas festivities.

Another post on thepadguide says, its sources are reporting that the iPhone 5 and iPad 3 won't be released until 2012. It also mentioned in the post that Apple will release all their next-generation devices in March of 2012. Besides, that company may release an affordable iPhone before the end of this year.

As Apple has not yet announced any date for the iPad 3 launch, its really hard to speculate the date for its landing in India. We all know that Apple always launches its gadgets in the western countries first and only then brings them to India and several other Asian countries after a year or so.

However, seeing the case of iPad 2, which came to India within few months after it launch in the west, we guess Apple might be breaking this trend of releasing its products later in India. Who knows, may be this time Apple will launch its new tablet in India at the same time with its global launch. Wishful thinking, maybe!
