Samsung launches its own mobile messenger- ChatON

Samsung is one company that has been repeatedly reinventing itself with every product. After coming up with its own operating system – the Bada OS, Samsung is planning to launch its own mobile messaging service – ChatON. ChatON would provide users a platform to share and see photos, videos and statuses.
This instant messaging tool would initially be offered in all Samsung phones running on its Bada OS and later expand to Android phones.
ChatON offers the user a vast array of media to share. One can send images, hand-written notes, videos, and engage in group chat using this Instant Messenger.
Along with that, an exciting feature of the messaging service is Text messaging. If a user sends a text message using ChatON, the message goes free to other phone, which means you get to save a lot of money over text messaging.
Samsung’s decision to launch its own instant messaging system follows an emerging market trend. While Apple has announced that it would provide its own iMessenger with the iPhone, Blackberry maker RIM has announced that users would now be able to share music on the Blackberry Messenger (BBM).
With ChatON, Samsung has again proved itself a serious competitor to both Apple and Blackberry.
ChatON has an edge over both of these services as it would be compatible with all smartphone platforms including iOS and Blackberry OS 7. This means that among smartphone and tablet users, even Blackberry and iPhone users can download ChatON.
Moreover, unlike iMessage or BBM which limit themselves to smartphone platforms, ChatON would also be available to feature phone users effectively, being the only major mobile messenger to do so.
ChatON is expected to be available for download from October.
