MTS India launches Snapdragon S1 powered budget Android smartphones in India

MTS India today launched India's most affordable Android smartphones - MTS MTag 3.1 and MTS Livewire. Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 processor, both Android Froyo smartphones are priced in the sub Rs 5000 category.
Vsevolod Rozanov, President and CEO, MTS India said, "this initiative has been designed to take the power of Android to the masses. The launch is in line with our endeavor to stay a staep ahead in providing the most innovative telecom solutions to our customers."
Both the devices have been launched in partnership with ZTE and Huawei. The MTS MTag 3.1 from Huawei packs in a 2.8" capacitive touch-screen and offers 240x320 resolution. Sporting a 3.2-mega pixel, the device supports multi format audio/video player with 3.5 mm jack.
The phone has live TV option through MTS TV application in addition to a on-demand video playback. With access to a powerful Voice search option, the users can go "typing" free. With access to more than 200,000 applications, users are guaranteed entertainment 24x7.
The second device launched in partnership with ZTE is MTS Livewire. Sharing similar specs to MTS MTag 3.1, the device runs on the state-of art EV-DO mobile broadband connectivity in addition to a powerful battery backup.
Both the devices aim to bring high end mobile internet experience to the masses across the length and breadth of the country.
At the Qualcomm signature event, Indiaon today, apart from MTS, HTC also launched its HTC Evo 3D powered by a Snapdragon S3 processor along with a slew of exciting features.
