Sony Ericsson's latest creation Xperia Active is a "active" Android smartphone, designed for those who have an active lifestyle. It comes with a gear kit that is preloaded with some excellent sports apps, with which users can monitor, plan and even log their training.
With ANT+ wireless networking technology, users can now also monitor their heart rate and pulse on-screen, on the new Xperia Active smartphone. Besides, owners of this handset can also set their ideal training route using GPS, barometer and compass features provided within the device.
The USP of the device is its water resistant feature. Now, you don't have to care about rains as the device is completely water resistant and can be kept under water for up to 30 minutes.
In addition its 3.3" scratch resistant display screen also functions if your fingers are wet.
The compact mobile phone from Sony Ericsson sports an efficient 5-megapixel camera that provide users with HD video recording. Also, the Xperia smartphone is power packed with Qualcomm Snapdragon S2 processor, reality display and Mobile Bravia Engine.
The Sony Ericsson Xperia Active includes Facebook with Xperia and the app, which makes this smartphone a complete social networking phone as well.
The device also comes along with one extra changeable soft touch back cover, detachable ear hooks, wrist strap, arm case and a 2 GB memory card. The company has not yet disclosed its prices, though we expect it to be within the Rs 20,000 range.
Along with Xperia Active, Sony Ericsson recently also launched another Android Gingerbread smartphone known as Xperia Ray.
