Mercury launches Android 2.3 powered mTab for Rs. 9,499 in India

Mercury, the computer peripheral manufacturer has announced the launch of its first tablet device, “mTab tablet.” This tablet runs on Android 2.3 OS and boasts of some impressive specs.
The “mTab tablet” sports a 7-inch WVGA TFT LCD touch display, 1.3-megapixel front camera useful for video conferencing. It is powered by a 1.2 Ghz 3-core Telechip, 8803 Cortex A8 processor.
Equipped with a 512 MB of RAM, 4GB of in-built storage and upto 16GB expandable memory and uses external 3G USB dongle to bring high speed experience to users.
One of the attractive feature of this device is that it supports the motion sensing 3D games using the G senor feature available in it.
This device supports video playback for upto four hours and also supports several video formats like Divx, MPG, and MP4 upto 1080p using the HDMI output. PC connectivity is available through USB 2.0 port and 3.5 mm jack.
There is no information yet about its battery back up. Priced at Rs. 9,499, mTab gives stiff competition to Beetel, Reliance, LACS and EAFT technologies who recently launched Magiq, Pepper, Reliance 3G and MagicTile Marathon tablets in the Indian markets.
