Motorola has announced that its 3.1-inch Pro Plus phone would hit the Asian markets somewhere around October. The handset comes with features such as a 1 GHz processor and Android 2.3 – Gingerbread OS.

“The Motorola PRO Plus is built for people who want to take the pressure off and consolidate their work and personal lives with an efficient smartphone that acts like your personal assistant,” said Motorola Mobility product management VP, Mr. Alain Mutricy.

The Pro Plus is a new version of the Motorola pro handset. It comes equipped with a QWERTY keyboard along with a protective Gorilla Glass covering for its touchscreen. It runs on a 1 GHz processor, a 512 MB RAM along with Android 2.3– Gingerbread OS.

The device is equipped with a 5-megapixel LED Flash primary camera and a secondary VGA camera. It comes with 4 GB internal storage that can be expanded to 32 GB.

Preloaded with eCompass, Google Maps, Google Talk, an accelerometer and a light and proximity sensor, Motorola Pro Plus also gives mobile users access to hindreds of free apps on the Android market. It also offers assisted GPS for navigation. For its business users, the phone is pre-loaded with Quickoffice connect and Activsync.

Motorola Pro Plus is compatible with various modes of Internet including Wi-Fi, 3G Hotspot and EDGE class 12. It comes with a dual-band WCDMA and Quad-band GSM.

It runs on a powerful 1600 mAh battery. Currently, no price can be ascertained for the Pro plus though we expect it to be released in the price bracket of Rs. 25-30 K.

After the recent launch of the Defy Plus and the Atrix, the anticipation for Pro Plus has gone up tremendously.
