According to Bit-tech, NVIDIA might be working on an interface that can bring PC games to tablets.
NVIDIA caters to a large section of the market. It provides processors and GPUs for a variety of IT devices including cellphones, tablets and PCs. In fact, considering they already have the requisite for producing games across a variety of products (CPUs, GPUs and gaming interfaces), NVIDIA might develop an interface that lets users play their games on tablets.
A NVIDIA representative was quoted by Bit-tech at the GamesCom 2011 as saying “Imagine you're playing Chrysis 2 on your PC and you're able to stream it around your home to a tablet device, which you could then plug into your TV if you wanted.”
NVIDIA currently reigns the market in providing processors, GPUs and PC games. NVIDIA PC games such as the Chrysis 2 are in fact considered the best PC games in the world.
NVIDIA already has collaborations with brands such as Samsung and Asus, which means that it would be able to provide first-party support on their systems. In addition to that, it would be able to provide support for all devices that run on its TEGRA processor.
The most recent version of the TEGRA processor, the TEGRA 3 is also supposed to be released by the end of this year. ASUS’ Transformer 2 is rumored to be equipped with a TEGRA 3 processor.
Every tablet nowadays is equipped with the latest features. While tablets such as the Galaxy Tab provide PC-like functionality, more specialized tablets such as MapmyIndia’s CarPad – a navigation tablet, has also been released. If NVIDIA succeeds in bringing PC games to tablets, we might even see a gaming tablet in the future.
