Nokia’s next Windows 7 Mango device, Nokia 703 surfaces online
Published on Sep 2, 2011
After the Nokia Sea Ray video leak in July this year, another handset, Nokia 703 equipped with Windows 7 has been leaked online.
This device was leaked online on the blog WMPowerUser and contains a mugshot of the Nokia 703 along with a list of specs.
According to the blog, Nokia 703 would have a 3.9-inch AMOLED display similar to the Nokia N9. Along with that, it would feature a 5-megapixel camera supporting 720p HD video recording and 512 MB of RAM. It would also provide 8 GB of built-in storage support.
This leak indicates that the device might be a mid-range handset. As yet, there is no word on the kind of processor this phone would use, but according to speculations, the handset would feature a 1GHz processor.
Furthermore, if the assumptions are to be believed, the Nokia 703 would be Nokia’s second Windows 7 device after the Sea Ray. Much has been leaked about the Sea Ray including its Gorilla Glass covering and its new UI. It also packs in features such as a deeper Skydrive integration and Internet Explorer 9. Unlike the 703, the Nokia Sea Ray would sport an 8-megapixel camera with a Carl Zeiss lens.
The Nokia 703 leak also signals the impending demise of Nokia’s own operating system – the Symbian. Its last update – the Symbian Belle has just been rolled out. After Nokia officially unveils its Windows 7 devices at the Nokia World exhibit in October this year, it is believed that most Nokia devices would release with a Windows OS.
The picture, although blurry, points towards November 27 as the release date for the handset. One thing is for sure, that these two devices would be most probably released in the last quarter of this year.
