Mobile Guru: How to use document viewer on LG Shine

LG Shine comes with a document viewer through which you can read a wide range of documents with file extensions such as .ppt, .doc, .pdf, .xls, and .txt. Through this function downloading or uploading a document file becomes very easy.

How to upload/download a file:

There are two ways to put a document file in your LG Shine. One is using the Bluetooth or the internet and second is using the USB data cable. When you download through internet or Bluetooth, the file directly goes to the document folder, but when you upload a file via USB cable, you should make sure that you have pasted the file in the document folder only.

When you connect your handset with the computer an icon will appear on the screen. When you open it you will see different folders, so you have to open the document folder and there you have to paste the document that you want to open in the document viewer.

How to read it:

After you plug out the USB, go to the Menu button, then My Stuff and click on the document that you want to open. When the document opens you can zoom in the document  upto 20 percent. Press ‘In’ to zoom and ‘Out’ to zoom out. If there are many pages, then the pages will be indicated by X and Y which will appear on the bottom of the screen. So by scrolling x and y, you can change the pages as well.

Text Search feature

One outstanding feature of the document viewer is you can search the words and the phrases within the document. You need not to go back to the whole article manually. To search any specific phrase, click on the Options, highlight search and then click OK or just press the 6 within the option menu.

You can do the case sensitive search as well, in which you can use the scroll buttons given on the right. Choose between Off and On and then click OK. The document will open your search term highlighted in the grey. When the search gets completed a message will pop up on the screen “search done”.
