Motorola Droid Bionic benchmarked; arriving in Asia markets soon

The Droid Bionic has been in the making for a while now, with smartphones users waiting eagerly for its launch. The phone has scored well on almost all accounts on bench mark tests and it looks like the device has been worth the wait.
Experts who tested the phone on various benchmark indexes found all these features working well on the Bionic. The phone works fast and loads applications and web pages quickly and without lags. The only area where the Bionic was found a wee bit lacking was in the call quality and the quality of the display.
The Droid Bionic is powered by a 1 GHz TI OMAP4 dual-core processor. The LTE phone has an expensive looking body made of metal and glass. It is slightly big with dimensions of 2.63 x 5 x 0.43’’ and weighs 5.6 ounces. The 4.3’’qHD screen has a resolution of 960 x 640 and uses Motorola’s Pentile pixel arrangement.
The smartphone comes with an 8-mega pixel camera at the back that is capable of capturing video at 1080p and a VGA camera in the front. GPS is preinstalled on the phone as well. MotoBlur widgets allow easy networking whereas ZumoCast makes it convenient for users to access remote files on their PCs. The Bionic comes with 1GB RAM, lots of internal storage and a 16GB memory card. With all that it offers, it’s no wonder the phone runs on a 1735 mAh battery and uses Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread.
Motorola’s latest offering can be used in the “webtop” mode in the webtop dock that can be bought separately as an accessory with the phone. In this mode, the phone becomes a quasi-desktop computer capable of running Firefox, Flash and various Android apps. The Bionic can also be used on the laptop dock that can be bought separately as well. Used in this dock, the phone turns into a 11.6’’ laptop.
All in all, the Bionic packs a punch. Depending on how the phone and its accessories are priced in the Indian market, users can compare it to competitive smartphones from Apple and Samsung before deciding which phone works the best for them.
The smartphone is expected to hit Asian markets soon.
