Its been a long time since Samsung announced an official Android update for its Galaxy phones. The official update called the I9000XXJVS has been leaked update is easily downloadable from the net. One needs to be careful while downloading such updates as they might void the phone’s warranty.

Know your mobile advises you to wait for Samsung’s official update as downloading the leaked Android 2.3.5 ROM might result in bricking your phone.

One of the most exciting features expected of the Android 2.3.5 would be Google’s Mobile Wallet technology codenamed Ballyhooed. While this feature would only give you access to retailers registered with Google Mobile Wallet, you would still need a built-in NFC chip to access it.

Along with that, it is slated to feature revamped Gmail access and Gtalk access that would provide you access to enhanced notification, priority sync and faster Google+ access.

If, by any chance, you do harm your Galaxy S while trying out the leaked update, we would advise you to re-install the current Android – 2.3.4.

While the next in line Galaxy SII has already been released, Samsung hasn’t forgotten the users of the Galaxy S. Although Leaked ROMs are mostly stable, one can’t be sure of an update unless it’s from the handset manufacturer itself.

The leaked Android 2.3.5 follows in the footsteps of Nokia’s Symbian Belle. Nokia Symbian Belle was leaked last month, Nokia was quick to respond and issued an official update for its N8 users within days of the leak. We hope Samsung responds in the similar fashion.

This is the first appearance of the 2.3.5 online. Besides the 2.3.5 – Gingerbread OS, Google is set to release the Android 4.0 – Ice Cream Sandwich OS and Android 5.0 – Jelly Bean OS.
