The iPhone 5 will be released on October 15: France Telecom CEO
Published on Sep 14, 2011
The comment of the France Telecom CEO about the launch of the Apple's fifth generation delight, iPhone 5, has everybody talking.
The exact date of iPhone 5 release date has been a bone of contention since the release of Apple iPhone 4. In a moment of truth (or mistake) the Orange CEO Stephane Richard was quoted as saying "If I believe what we've been told, the iPhone 5 will be out on October 15."
While we suggest taking this information with a pinch of salt, specially seeing the repeated changes in the launch months (from October to November to December and now back to October), Macrumors feels that, "as the top executive of a major iPhone partner Richard would be more likely to have accurate information than most."
Richard didn't stop at announcing the launch date but also mentioned special packages that iPhone 5 would be accompanied with. Meanwhile our sister concern Know Your Mobile has revealed that Apple’s iPhone 5 will be getting a UK release date at O2 on October 21. If the timeline is true, then Indian Apple lovers may have to wait for another 2-3 months ideally to get hold of the iPhone 5.
The cupertino complex continues to remain tight lipped about the launch of the device as well as its specifications. Regarding the iPhone 5 specs- the device is touted to pack along iOS 5, dual core processor, larger display, 8-megapixel camera,1080p video recording capabilities and 1GB of RAM.
