Nokia 101 launched, Nokia 100 coming in October

Nokia just launched the Nokia 101 handset in India and its next-of-the-line budget phone; the Nokia 100 is slated to hit the shelves next month. While the Nokia 101 comes with a price tag of Rs 1,799, the Nokia 100 is even more attractively priced at Rs. 1,399.

Nokia has been in a quandary ever since Apple and Samsung caught up with it in the global market. Once the reigning force in phones all over the world, Nokia seemed to have hit a wall with its handsets for a long time, as it came up with handsets that were considered not only outdated but also expensive such as the C6. People seemed to have lost all hope with regard to Nokia.  

But, as we know Nokia, it wouldn’t go down without a splash. Nokia, in fact, is gathering its energy and coming with renewed market approaches and innovative handsets. 

One of those approaches is the Nokia’s next billion approach. With this approach, Nokia plans to bring in the next billion consumers using handsets catering to every kind of customers providing every range of mobiles.

The Nokia 100 and Nokia 101 are the birth children of that approach. With the Nokia 100 and 101 handsets the company plans to cash on large Asian markets such as the Indian market.

We have to say that we are certainly impressed with Nokia this time. The handsets are not only affordable; Nokia has embedded them with extra features and interesting pre-loaded apps. Lets have a look at both of these handsets.

The Nokia 101 is a dual-SIM feature handset. Along with dual-SIM capability, which is available in quite a few handsets nowadays, the Nokia 101 handset comes with a unique SIM manager that stores the details of up to 5 SIM cards. Along with that, it comes with an FM Radio, MP3 player and a 103 phone loudspeaker. It offers up to 16 GB of external storage.

The Nokia 100 is a budget handset that offers a grid-based menu system along with an FM Radio. It comes in a variety of colors – pink, blue, black and red.

Both of these handsets will come pre-loaded with apps such as Nokia Tools and Nokia Money.
