Symbian Belle powered Nokia 700 and Nokia 701 to arrive in India this month

The latest offering from the Finnish giant, Nokia 700 and 701 will debut with the Symbian Belle platform in India soon. Nokia recently started shipping both the handsets and it turns out that the expected October arrival in india has been preponed. A Nokia India spokesperson was quoted by Mobile Indian as stating "both the devices, the Nokia 700 and the Nokia 701, will be available in the Indian market in the coming few weeks."

The Nokia 700, aka Zeta, features a 1GHz processor and 3.2-inch AMOLED display and is the smallest touchscreen smartphone in the world. A eco-friendly smartphone, Zeta comes with a long battery life offering 4.5 hrs of talk time and a standby time of 465hrs.

Bearing similar design as that of the Nokia C7, Nokia 701 packs in similar specs like Zeta with 1GHz processor and NFC technology. The USP of the device is its 'brightest display', probably among most of the mobile phones available in the market. It is equipped with a  3.5 inch ClearBlack IPS LCD, 8-mega pixel camera with dual LED flash and 8GB of on-board storage ( with a microSD card for expansion).

The  Nokia 700 and Nokia 701 will be priced at Rs 18,00 and Rs 19,300 approx. Apart from Nokia 700 and Nokia 701 another Belle powered smartphone Nokia 600 is expected to arrive in India soon.

Talking about the latest Belle OS, the platform focuses on the personalisation, allowing users to 'match the look and feel of the phone with your priorities'. Belle platform comes with live widgets, updated maps application with which you can share your location with friends. There is also option to resize the widgets to fit the homescreens and a toggle widgets to turn features like Blutooth and Wi-Fi on and off.

The latest platform also packs in a status bar to access all your notifications, NFC capabilities and new apps like Sharepoint, OneNote, Exchange ActiveSync and PowerPoint Broadcaster.

Soon after introducing the Nokia X7 and the E6, Anna powered handsets, Nokia was prompt in rolling out Belle. Nokia has been losing grounds in India, and the Belle handsets will be a litmus test for the company to resurrect its image. Looking at the popularity of the Android platform among users, this does seem to be a uphill task.
