Reliance is a company known for their budget CDMA handsets. In fact, their first phones were CDMA and they are still coming up with new and innovative CDMA handsets such as the Coolpad D530. Reliance has introduced the handset with  a 100% money back scheme that extends over 24 months.

Communications, in collaboration with the Chinese telecom company, Coolpad has launched India’s first fully loaded CDMA phone – the D530.

Mr. Nagaprasad Velmuri, the Reliance head for Andhra Pradesh commented on the D530 – “ with data centric devices like Coolpad D530, we expect a substantial growth in the smart phone data usage revenues”

 Priced at Rs. 7,999, this handset offers features such as a 3.5-inch touchscreen, an 800 MHz processor and Android Éclair OS.

The Coolpad D530 is designed to cater to Indian budget smartphone customers. The handset has a 3.5-inch TFT touchscreen offering 320 x 480 pixels resolution along with a 2-megapixel camera.

The device is designed around facilitating easy Internet access for users. It offers hi-speed data browsing with its Wi-Fi Hotspot feature. This feature enables the D530 to double up as a Wi-Fi router/ Internet hub for multiple devices including itself. 

 The handset has also been designed keeping a consumer’s business needs in mind. It offers a GPPS browser along with email, text input prediction and a new feature known as incoming calls firewall helps making your work secure with enahnced security measures protecting you against viruses and malware.

In addition to that, it offers an MP3 player, FM Radio, PC Sync and calendar, calculator memo etc. This handset is powered by a strong 1250 mAh Li-ion battery.  

While it has become an increasing trend for network operators such as Vodafone and Airtel to become mobile handset providers, Reliance was the first company to do so. Ever since its first handset launch in 2002, Reliance has succeeded at consistently providing us with affordable, India-centric handsets.
