Harping on the growing demand for tablets in the global market, Huawei will roll out its first Honeycomb tablet next month. Named MediaPad, the device will be promoted by the famous Indian writer Chetan Bhagat, who has been roped in as brand ambassador.
In words of Mr. Victor Shan, President, Huawei Devices India, Chetan Bhagat is country's youth icon. His work changed the entire outlook of Indian publishing industry. He further stated that through MediaPad Huawei intends to introduce high-end technology within reasonable budget to Indian masses.
Interestingly, Huawei originally launched MediaPad in June earlier this year. The 3G + Wi-Fi MediaPad comes with a 7-inch touchscreen display and has a 5-maga pixel autofocus snapper at the back. The camera can also shoot HD videos for you. Another 1.3-mega pixel camera has been given on front side to facilitate video calling. MediaPad is powered by Qualcomm dual-core 1.2 Ghz processor and functions on Android 3.2 Honeycomb operating system. For those who don’t know, Honeycomb OS has been specifically designed for running tablets. Hence, if you are thinking of buying one, it can be one main deciding factor.
Built keeping in mind the social networking needs of people, the Huawei’s MediaPad tablet comes preloaded with apps like Facebook and Twitter. Let’s Golf and Documents to Go are other additional apps given. The device also supports HSDPA+ data services and is completely compatible with Bluetooth 2.1 version. With so much on offer, Huawei’s MediaPad is definitely a steal.
In terms of competition and pricing, Huawei’s MediaPad is likely to be priced in the same range as the likes of Reliance 3G Tab and Beetel Magiq are.
