Motorola XOOM Wi-Fi gets Android 3.2.1

Motorola XOOM Wi-Fi users now have a reason to smile. Their Honeycomb tablets are now being provided with an update -Android version 3.2.1. The make too has improved to HTK 55D.

Although rumors are still lurking regarding the features and other functionalities involved. However, the only thing certain about it are few improvements like the one stated here along with possibly other minor improvements and bug fixes.

As of now, only Motorola XOOM Wi-Fi models are treated with upgrade. Experts opine that Motorola XOOM 3G tablets are likely to follow suit soon. Interestingly, not very long ago Motorola XOOM 4G tablets were featuring Android 3.2.2.

However, on financial front, Motorola XOOM has been a disaster. Still the company is showing faith in its devices and is busy incorporating them with new updates, features and functionalities. One fine example of it is the LTE update for the Motorola XOOM 3G tablets which has been going on for over a month.

But will it be enough? Just like every other tablet, Motorola XOOM (irrespective of versions 3G, Wi-Fi) has fared extremely bad on commercial front. However, unlike other brands, Motorola has been sensible enough to slash its tablet prices for Asian markets especially in India, to attract more buyers.

The move was made in the wake of phenomenal showing of Apple iPad which has eaten into other tablets market. Meanwhile, Motorola has been working on Motorola XOOM 2 to make a comeback in the tablet market. Recently leaked pictures of a  7-inch tablet from Motorola surfaced online. According to rumors the device may be powered with Honeycomb operating system. We won't be surprised if it arrives later with a Ice Cream Sandwich.

Experts believe that the recent Google-Motorola deal is expected to work in its favor and hence, Motorola XOOM 2 has a better chance of acquiring market space when compared with other brands.
