PocketNow got its hands on the leaked photos of the HTC Hero S and put two and two together to figure out that it is indeed the HTC Kingdom. A mid range smart phone, it has been overshadowed by HTC’s other offerings off late.
From the looks of it and the details known about the HTC Kingdom, it seems that the HTC Hero S will be powered by the single-core 1.2 GHz Qualcomm chip, the MSM7630. The phone will feature the HTC Sense interface and run on Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread.
The 4’’ gHD display with a resolution of 540 x 960p promises sharp pictures. The phone has 2 cameras. The back facing camera is as usual the sharper one; at 5-mage pixel, it allows users to capture video at 720p as well. The front facing camera is not as developed as the first one but is nevertheless convenient to use while video chatting with contacts.
The HTC Hero S offers a 768 MB RAM with expandable memory up to 32 GB with a microSD card. It includes micro USB 2.0, Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi connectivity, a 3.5 mm stereo headset jack etc. It is also preloaded with all the applications that Android smartphones feature, including Android Market. Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, Gmail, G-Talk make it a convenient phone for social networking junkies. Google Voice Search and Adobe Flash Support are welcome features too. The phone has a standard Li-ion battery. From the leaked pictures, it looks like the device will sport a black color.
Details are yet unknown on when the phone will retail and how much it will cost. It will be interesting to see how it fares against HTC’s other offerings.
