Huawei Honour poses for press shots

Huawei is already well settled in the mobile market with the Ideos range of Android handsets and a bunch of other low cost smartphones that attract the mid ranged customers. And now, the company has taken the wraps off another gem of a handset in the form of the Huawei U8660 a.k.a Honour.
The Honour was leaked last month, so we were still uncertain about the authenticity of the leak. But thanks to these press shots, we now know for sure that the device is heading to the markets soon, though there is no official launch date mentioned.
The handset features a 4 inch capacitive display, combined with an 8MP camera and a 1.4 GHz single core CPU running inside. The reason that Huawei phones do not fail to impress is because they come with the best hardware and for a relatively reasonable price as we have seen with the Ideos handsets in India.
There is also a front facing camera on the Honour for video calls with the primary camera capable of recording 720p video at 30fps. Add all of that with Android 2.3 Gingerbread and we have a perfect Android handset. But the fact that there’s no dual core chipset is somewhat disappointing.
The handset will be available in White, Black and Purple colours so there’s enough to choose from for the customers. And just to be safe, Huawei is rolling out the handset with a 1930 mAh battery which will give the handset a substantial amount of stand by time. There is no word on the pricing of the device, but we believe that the handset will be priced moderately.
As far as the launching of the handset is concerned, Huawei shouldn’t wait further since dual core droids are already well settled in the market and single core handsets are not as fancy as they used to be. The Indian customers will be eagerly anticipating the launch of this brand new droid from Huawei.
