ZTE’s new phone is named Tania, which some feel is short for Titania, a moon of the planet Uranus. This could be true since ZTE is known for coming up with names inspired by space, the folks over at recombu feel.
ZTE Tania is a mid range phone with the usual features that are found on smartphones running on the Windows Phone Mango operating system. A 4.3’’ WVGA TFT screen offers a resolution of 800 x 480.
The 5-mega pixel back facing camera has an auto focus, but unfortunately, there is no front facing camera. Tania does include 3D acceleration though. The 10.5 mm wide phone will be available in black and white.
A 1 GHz processor powers the ZTE Tania which has 512 MB of RAM. The phone runs on a 1400 mAh battery. What is surprising analysts is the 4 GB of internal storage the phone is rumoured to offer, specially since Windows Phone Mango usually runs on devices that offer at least 8 GB of internal storage.
Hopefully, ZTE will revamp the internal storage of Tania before retailing it in the market. The phone does include other features like Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, A-GPS and 3G HSPA.
Though it is yet unknown where all the phone will launch besides East Asia, it is rumoured that it will be priced within 250 pounds.
For a price like that, it might be a good buy if the internal storage issue is resolved. Details about when the phone will retail are also not known but with the kind of features it is offering, ZTE will probably launch it soon, in time for the festive season.
