Call it a work of an overactive imagination or dismiss it as a plain rumor but the blogosphere is abuzz with reports that HTC Explorer will be globally launched on September 29 in the capital. The news apparently seemed to have germinated from the fact that HTC is already running a contest regarding it on its Facebook Page. According to it, winners of this contest will be called to attend the launch event and meet global HTC team.

Nicknamed Pico, the entry level HTC Explorer's specs and pictures were leaked online recently. According to gossip mongers, India will be the first nation to get the smartphone. Thereafter, HTC plans to ship HTC Explorer to other significant Asian markets. Interestingly, if this rumor comes to be true, it surely will be touted as a bold step from HTC.
Unlike other globally renowned smartphone manufacturers, which launch their futuristic communication models in Western markets, HTC will be the first company to abandon this custom. The move is likely benefit the company tremendously since Indian market is fast emerging to be the biggest market for entry-level for smartphones.
Although there is still no official word on HTC Explorer’s specs, yet the device is expected to feature a 5-mega pixel built-in camera along with a 3.2-inch HVGA touch display. Powered by Android 2.3 OS with HTC Sense 3.5 version, the smartphone apparently will have 384 MB RAM and a 512 ROM that will help you in accessing apps and different features at lightning fast speed.
We will dish out more details of the highly awaited Android smartphone from HTC.
